Yamaha FZ16 is one of the bikes which has ruled Indian roads for quite a while. It is one of those first Indian naked bikes which became favorite of almost every youngster. Apart from its new and different looks, its driving abilities, superb handling and comfort was the key features. Specially the wider rear tyre was one of those features which were not found in other indian bikes.

YAMAHA has now launched new FZ version 2.0 which has new improved design and engine aswell.
The latest FZ remains as macho, rugged looking and muscular naked bike as the old FZ
It comes with Yamaha’s new Blue Core technology which has low fuel consumption, which means new FZ has a brand new engine. Though there is reduction in the displacement from 153cc to 149cc, the new FZ version 2.0 as not lost its performance bacause the biggest change is the introduction of a fuel-injection system which leads to the quicker throttle response. The power has come down by roughly 1PS to 13.1PS at 8,000rpm while torque is down by roughly 0.8Nm to 12.8Nm at 6,000rpm. It has 14 per cent better economy as Yamaha claims and better 0-100kmph performance. Its all new frame has reduced the bikes kerb weight by 3.5kg which make the bike ride more light. Gear shifting remains the same one-down,four-up gearbox that operates via a toe-shift lever. The sound remains the same as that of the old FZ.

The new FZ version 2.0 has an elegant black base color, slim-spoke alloy rims, with racy stripes. FZ version 2.0 digital meters is similar to the old one but is now more clear even in the day light. The meters include a green Eco light and the missing thing is the clock. It comes with a comfortable set of control levers and good quality palm grips. The mirrors are smaller in size but likewise functional and easily adjusted. The new FZ has a broader tank which gives a better knee and thigh grip and the bets part is massive tyres. Aluminium has been introduced at the back holding the mudguard and number plate. The rear mudguard is long which will help in rains but also at the same time spoils the looks of the rear massive tyre. The headlight and taillight has a new look. Exhaust design is changed but emitting has improved. Both rider and pillion seats are extremely well cushioned. The tail light is not LED.

But it has retained all the key features of the old FZ like easy and comfortable riding, less maintenance , easy riding inside city traffic, light clutch operation and has an improvement in all aspects like handling, cornering, stability and braking. Drawbacks is the reduced displacement which will disappoint the YAMAHA FZ fans as the new bikes are coming with more displacement, missing LED rear tail light and missing rear disc.
